We are the bridge between historic rejuvenation and new building development.
We are the bridge between South Roanoke, Walnut Hills and Old Southwest.
We are the bridge between residential/commercial space and indoor/outdoor entertainment.
We are the bridge between private ownership and strategic partnership with the City of Roanoke.
We are the bridge between Riverside Complex, the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute, and the Roanoke River.
The Bridges is a 22-acre mix of historic industrial buildings, old lumber yards, grain mills, scrap iron yards, Ironworks, Dominion Metal Products and new contemporary buildings. This combination is already bringing new business to Roanoke with the incorporation of South16 apartments; Starbucks, Starr Hill Tap Room and Moe’s Southwest Grill in the historic lumber warehouse; Dr Pepper Park outdoor event venue; and the kayak boat launch.
Over the next decade, The Bridges is planned to grow to 1 million square feet of residential, retail and office space that will connect downtown with the Roanoke River. This new destination will include riverfront dining, retail stores and an eventual public riverwalk.
The Bridges is being developed by WVS Companies, which specializes in reusing existing buildings and amenities to create new communities.
